White Fog Lights at LAST!!!!!!

Postby Famma » Fri Apr 16, 2010 9:12 pm

Hi all,
I have been reading all the posts about White Fog Lights because I absolutly hate the yellow globes they put in, and I hated them even more after changing my Parkers to LED. Some people have used LED, some have converted to HID, but the problem with the Leds is apart from the asthetics they are useless for lumination! and I really couldn't be bothered to convert to HID. I did a lot of research on different types of bulbs and everyone told me that you never really get true white light from a replacment bulb with blue coating. Eventually after doing yet some more reading on the net I decided to try the
(Phillips Diamond View 55w 5000K HB4) put them in this morning and had a good look at them this evening and I must say I am very happy with them! They actually give you a very crisp white light almost identical to my Xenon's so I am finally Happy! Let's hope they stay that way!!! And the price was great! after being quoted in excess of $135.00 I got them from Hong Kong on ebay for $48.90 deliverd for the pair.

Good idea! They def won't output as much as the standard halogens, but they'll be a $hitload more useful than having LEDs in there. And much less hassle and cheaper than doing HIDs for the fogs. I think I may copy you ;)

Got any pics?

Philips Bulbs are good but they are overpriced in Australia.

You'll find that the Diamond Visions, Vision Plus, don't last as long as normal bulbs because they are overdriven to get that extra brightness. Then again the foglights aren't meant to be used all the time so you may be able to make yours last a long time.

I just bought few weeks ago from autobarn, the HDO globes. It's not ADR compliance but I don't really care because it still halogens.

5500K, 2300 lumens, give you really white, near to HID 5000-6000K brightness and color. Made in china(as usual plenty of them now made in china).

40 bucks bought from autobarn. I will took picture tonight. I will change for my foglights soon.

Cheers

Looks nice.

How about high beam lights? Do you change it or keep it standard? I may change all lights to be white.

Thanks

No I left the High beams standard as when you use them you want maximum stregnth. Besides you don't see them much anyway.

i'm running HID's on my low beams and driving lights, they make a huge difference and are a great improvement over the standard globes

actually this is untrue. HID, even though the light is intense, does not shine as far as halogen. so i think you would definitely need your high beams in future if you were to drive on some remote or dark roads.

I have HID's low beams and driving lights from Leo and they make a huge difference.

Even all my mates cant believe the difference from there yellow stardard globes to my HID's.

that maybe true but i dont think you need to hid your hi beams unless you want to spend $200 on lights you will use less than 3 hours a year
seems a bit extravagent...IMO that is.
But if you are a country driver this could be increased and your reasoning change but im just generalising
