Well, third party insurance won't cover anything. Even police, my teacher(lawyer) said that third party won't help me and I need to take care all of by my self.

This guy gave me wrong telephone number, wrong address and name, because we don't know each other.

His car only minor damage.

Well, I can't do anything. Already ask plenty of people, they said I can't do anything even police. This is private matter, not police and insurance matter.

Now I just need to upgrade my insurance, even may costs me 1800 bucks per year(still 19 years old).

Damn it, but thank God no one hurt. Only my lovely car hurts.

You know what you do then, say when your car got hit you sustained a sore neck the next day. The police would not hesitate to help you track down the owner of the other vehicle provided the rego #, and possibly even charge that driver for giving false details as well if that is the case.

This is not my Country. I'm only international student. I don't care too much now.

What can I do I only need to find replacement for my headlight, since I'm afraid of electrical.

After this change my insurance policy and maybe from there, I will ask them to repair my car. Said in car park someone hit me and doesn't give me details.

I'm not sure of your logic...

You said you won't lie to get the driver's details but you suggest you would lie to get your insurer to pay up!

Sometimes you need to twist the truth a bit, to get the results you deserve. I.e. I'm not saying lie about a sore neck to get compensation through the TAC, but rather say that you are injured so you can get the driver's details so his insurance can pay to repair your car.

The first option has next to zero chance of getting caught or in trouble, plus it costs you nothing. A sore neck can "fix" itself within days if it isn't severe.

The second option will at least cost you in terms of paying an excess, cost to insure for full comp, and increased premium for your next year's renewal.

You shouldn't be out of pocket for this incident, whether it be by paying for full comp insurance so you can then defraud your own insurer, or whether you pay to fix your own car.

Well, my insurance only cover other people car, not my car.

My insurance not comprehensive, only 3rd party. So I don't have any excess and etc.

For this matter, I already ask lawyer and etc, all can cause me thousand of bucks.

This people lie for telephone number, can lie about the other contact details and maybe the car is not own by that guy.

In this case, I think I just change my headlights and everything I just close my eyes. Pretend I didn't see that dent and paint.

The thing is, you have the rego so the owner of that car when contacted by police would need to disclose the driver of the car at the time of the accident.

Well you're supposed to get their name and address details from their driver's license. Did you at least exchange driver's license info? Otherwise if you just ask him, he'll surely make up any name and address and number to give you.

That's my mistake. I didn't ask for driving license and etc. And I gave my full details.

Yeah, if the damage including airbag, wind screen or maybe whole bonnet, that gonna costs me another 2-3 grand.

Well, I will change the insurance, and also find a good price panel/body repair.

Btw, someone know about the headlight part? Just sent to used car parts, but they didn't have it.
