Introduce yourself

Hi new to the forum.

Postby Mark^^ » Sun Apr 25, 2010 9:32 pm

Hi, I'm new to the site and new to Subaru’s.

I live just outside of Canberra on a rural property near Lake George and work in Canberra.

Three weeks ago we brought my mother a new Liberty 2.5i Sports which she loves. Below are a couple of pictures after I spent 8 hours detailing it on its second weekend here.

While we shopping around I started thinking my Territory is getting on a bit old and when I saw the Liberty 2.5 GT Premium and took it for a drive, I was hooked. I spent a fair bit on the Territory and decided I won’t sell it, but I could get a novated lease on a new car.

So in two to three week weeks I should take deliver of a new Liberty 2.5 GT Premium in Graphite Grey (same colour as my mothers). I have ordered it with front lip spoiler, side under skirt, boot spoiler and rear bumper skirt, Flexible Tower Brace and mats.

Here’s mums

Hey Mark,

Welcome here too :P It sucks that you cant mod it too much with the lease these forums give you baaaaad ideas.

The ACT guys are a bit more active on here than on Ozlib. Which dealer are you picking it up from?

Michael.

Thanks Michael, looks like this forum has more info on the latest model then the other I have found so far. I am getting it through Capital Subaru in Fyshwick.

I am not overly worried about not being able to mod the Liberty due to issues the lease people, as the GT Turbo seems to come with all I want for a daily drive. However my first questions when I spoke to the company were how much latitude there was with adding bits to it and I did not get a firm NO, so you never know. Anyway my Territory is still going to be my money drain and I still have lots of ideas….

Welcome Mark! I bet you're extremely excited to take possession of your baby. I certainly would! Don't have a lot of Gen V owners on here yet but the numbers are growing! Enjoy the forum. :P

That's what I thought too! But you can't always follow the rules. My car is still under lease. :P

Thanks Arith, I sure am looking forward to the new car. In terns of any mods I have to decide if I will buy out the lease when it runs out or go for a new car before I do much. If I do much I would tend to want to keep it and then end up with more cars than I can deal with, which happend with my Territory. Mind you we have heaps of room here for more cars, just need some more farm sheds LOL

Thanks for your nice comments about my Territory, I have made some major changes inside as well as per below photos. I have also replaced the exhaust system with a Di Filippo sports system, tuned and replaced all suspension and bushes, and lots of other stuff. Dives like a dream and go to with a nice throaty sound.

hey Jim I just looked all the mods you have done on your car, its fantastic and love all your improvements. It has given me many ideas and fears. I though I would leave my soon new car fairly stock as I think I will keep turning the car over when the lease ends, but seeing yours has me thinking and my wallet running....
