Haven't had time to read the whole thing yet but I should comment on the first page:

"Once the salesman had left i inspected the car then got my Paint aDepth Guage out and measured the paintwork on all panels to ensure that no accidental damage had been done and that no panels had been blowed over as i would have rejected the car instantly , i cant have that...."

If I was the salesman I would have told the tosser go to jump as from time to time cars do get damaged in transit from the plant, and as long as the paint is repaired to factory standard it will be warranted much the same. Typically a flag will be set in the warranty system stating that aftermarket paint repairs have been done so that if there are any issues then the manufacturer will recoup the cost from that repairer. The only exception is that body filler can not be used.

When i say wash, i mean put $2 in the car wash, soap, rinse and take the 100km highway for the 15 min drive home. Its dry by the time i get home and means that i dont get crappy buildups :D Then once a fortnight i give it the proper treatment :D This daily duty all stemed from when i had a black car, and lived with my parents on a dirt road...with no real under cover parking.

I agree with the "just an astra" comments. It would be more justifiable if he owned something exotic and expensive...but an astra? Pffft, run it through the auto car wash once a week lol!

I like the way they went to all the trouble to look for blemishes under artificial light.
