How's the eye lids going for the 2005 MY06 3.0LR

they are in the custody of Kevlar GT - he is the man for testing the new LIB parts

The good news is I have one eyelid painted and just awaiting clear coat. My wife who is generally a "Meh" person when it comes to my car stuff even commented on how nice it looks. The other one, well, I kind of f*cked that one up (paintwise) in my eagerness to check things out. Required a complete rub back and is now resting with several layers of primer - top coat of colour will go on that one tomorrow and clear on the other. I will start the process of removing my existing headlight shrouds and cleaning them up ready for fitting.

The quality of these is great. Only required a small amount of tidying up around the edges (and I also did the face too just because I was there) with some very fine grade sandpaper - P400 - prior to priming.

So, all going well (hoping for a relatively clear day Saturday for final painting) I should be able to fit up and photograph the finished products Sunday.

Ok, As explained to Rob my image shack account basically crapped itself - BUT - I had these linked fresh last night to a few mates so here for your viewing pleasure is the Ultrex MY04 - 06 eyelids and also the K2 Replica scoop.









The quality of these is great - especially considering I had the 'sample' units to work with. The eyelids only required a minor sanding over the edges to smooth things over to the point of undercoating and then top coating. As you can see they (eyelids) keep with the lines of the car and in the words of my son "make your car look cranky". I still need to cut and final polish these so don't take paint quality into account. I wanted to get them on the car so Rob could see the finished product and be advised of any issues (of which there were none).

I can take more pictures of these if required - but a mate of mine is dead keen to do a photoshoot now and I guess you will see more of the red beast whether you like it or not.
