New stainless Cat back exhaust

Postby ItstheLPC » Sat Apr 10, 2010 2:07 pm

Ive just replaced the stock muffler system cat back and It sounds pretty good, tig welded 3' to 2.25's on the y and new hi flow mufflers. Although I feel like ive lost some low down torque ? is this common?

Yes this is normal as youve lost some backpressure with the freer flowing system. You should have a little more top end now though. Thats the trade off.

Cheers,
I reset the ECU and most of the torque seems to have come back. Perhaps the oxygen sensor played a part?
Not sure, but all is swell. Really enjoying the nice note, sure it doesn't rumble but it does pur.

I actually like the flat note of the 2.0T. No rumble, but if you want rumble then go buy a WRX.

Sort of sounds like a four-cylinder version of a Ferrari 360... very raspy, especially when cold.
