Blitz - RACING RADIATOR Type ZS

One thing you don't see many people upgrade in their car ... specially in Liberty is radiator.
Then again most people with Liberty don't really modified their car too much or they don't do much track day.
Few weeks ago phat gt told me about these Blitz radiator,though it would be a good safety thing, and we all know it's always good to keep your car "cool"..... plus i'm planning more tracks day so yesterday got them installed.
One thing you will noticed straight away is the thickness, standard core size is around 14 - 15mm while the Blitz one is 42mm.
At the same time also installed the Samco silicon hose.
So far can't really tell you the out right performance gain, one thing i noticed is it takes longer for the thermo fans to kick in, anyway off to a track day very soon and i'll see how it perform.

But if you need further detail on the radiator contact phat gt and he will go through them with you.
Soon i'll try to install temp gauge and see what kind of temp im reading.

I like this mod, how much did it set you back inc. hoses?

It was hottest of 33degC up at Shepparton this weekend and my oil temp was up to 105degC after each run but water temp on stock gauge stayed in the middle the whole time. Of course the stock water gauge is very rough so I would ideally like to have an aftermarket water gauge so I can see the true reading.

Have you considered an oil cooler as well?

I am not sure at this stage whether to get the oil cooler or a bigger radiator. Oil/water are both fairly inter-related as they both cool the engine, however I'm not sure which one is more important. (does cooler oil lead to cooler water and vice versa).

Oil cooler ... for sure ... but down the track ... need $$$ haha

A nice tip - just because it's shiny polished aluminium, don't put your hand on it cos it's hot

Yes .. after we installed the radiator, we started the car after a min i can just touch it ... getting warm ... after another few mins .. you can pretty much cook your steak on it .... good to see it's working well !

Dave when i saw the stock radiator i was like WTF ... did they made mistake @ Subaru ...... because the core is so thin ...

Got to see this puppy getting installed, very nice bit of fabrication, it also comes with a drain plug for easier draining and flushing……. Very tempting

I am very surprised about the efficiency of the oem radiator being so thin….

My stock radiator has a drain plug... Are the GT ones different?
