Tail Light Tint + De-badging

Postby Laps » Fri Mar 19, 2010 6:19 pm

Just posting an update on the Libs.

Put tail light tint on from the group buy Arith had.

Took badge off grill, speaking of which, do you prefer it with the badge on or off?

I prefer badges off and paint the chrome strip flat black while you are it. Good work on the tint.

Alex, as David suggested, you should paint the chrome strip ASAP. If you can't afford painting it body colour, at least paint it flat black until you can afford or have time to paint it properly. One will hardly notice the subtlety of flat vs gloss black, but that's way better than the chrome bit sticking out like a sore thumb ... especially now that you've tinted the taillights (looks good btw). The focus will be on the chrome strip now.

As for the grille ... well, whether thee's a badge or no badge, I'd ditch that fly screen and get a real grille. Even a cheapie one from Ultrex or Pro-Speed Racing is better looking IMO (flame suit on as I just insulted everyone with this Subaru resin grille :D ).

Yeh im trying to find some spare subaru tail lights at a wrecker or something as I want to be able to return it to its original state if need be... :D

Also, the "LIBERTY" badge is chrome aswell so yeh, id like to paint it black rather than take it off completely... :D

As for the grill, I can easily afford a new one, i just really cant be bothered with getting one and painting it atm. My dad has all the equipment to paint (compressor etc.) and someone said autopro will do up some paint for me, so yeh
