Brake Pads?

Postby vp920b » Thu Mar 18, 2010 11:58 am

Hi all,

Just want to ask, which part number of Bendix Brake pads, for Liberty 2004 Sedan, 2.5L?

Since in Supercheap Auto I saw it's the DB1722 but in the online catalog, there is a Legacy and Liberty.

DB1722 in Supercheap auto, the General CT costs 84 bucks. Is it reasonable?

Got any other recommended product? I want greater feeling and stopping power from the brakes.

I need to replace it soon.

Thanks

Get the QFM HP-X They are about $95 for a front set. Get them from GSL Rally Sports in QLD.

Bendix website shows DB1803 Rear and DB1491 Fronts

My other half has Bendix 4WDs front and rear on her older Liberty, they are certainly a better choice than OEM.

I run Ferodo TS2000s front and rear on the GT, they are a very good compromise of excellent pads but they are dusty. If you track your car regularly, consider the TS2500s, but they will wear your rotors and are as dirty as hell

Pretty sure the DB1722 applies to the GT, yours being a 2.5i is DB1491.

Go to this link and click the online catalogue top left of the screen. The select manufacturer, model etc and it will show the part number.

*edit* Beaten by a few minutes.

I had Ferodo on my Silvia for a few weeks and the dust was appalling! It looked like the rims hadn't washed for 6 months. Switching over to Bendix Ultimates fixed that... but those things have absolutely zero bite when cold

Well, almost buy a wrong part number.

I just want to buy the general CT. I won't bring this car to track.

Just for daily driving and maybe some touring to outside of Melbourne.

It should be available in Supercheap auto(DB 14xx)..

Thanks very much all,

Naldo

Did you apply the paste that came with the Dixcel pads and re use stock shims? Mine just arrived and I am going to put them on this arvo but have never done it before so just need to check first, lol.

Defiantly use the paste, but the shims are optional……. No harm in using both IMO

Done. Only used the big main shim though, not the second half-size one. All seems good.

*Hands thread back over to bendix question* lol
