MY10 GT Auto 380km per tank?

Got the car with full tank of petrol from dealer, No idea what they put in.

Done 317km with a bit of fuel left. see picture I think should still be able to do 60km more depends how I drive.

Been using in S mode all the time, played with S# while on high way for a little while.

half of the time I've been using MT mode keep the car in 2n gear so i can break in.

I will try to empty the tank and then refill with bp ultimax and then report result here later.

So how's the car andy, now that you've shared 300km?

On the overnight test drive I found;

- Car had about 2300km on the clock
- Pickup with full tank of fuel, it said 220km to refill (! How had it been driven?!)
- After using just under half a tank it said 370km to go to refill (yes I did use S#, honest!) and I had coincidentally travelled 220km, so thats 590km for the tank.
- majority was open road, but driving was spirited (well, for me.)

Car is very good. So far I like almost everything about it. Just little hard to keep it under the speed limit because mine is Auto. did you test drive the AUTO too? it's like a luxury but sporty very good car. The sound system is very nice standard you don't need to add subs at all. GPS is ok but the map still using 2008 where is it. I emailed subuaru asking them to update the map for me and still waiting for reply.

My advise is don't put the bodykit on because it doesn't look as good as the photo they show in advertisement specially the rearkit. if you going to get it.



I am going to try to reposition the horn so that it's not visible.

Right now the car is showing i am doing 8.0 per 100km It's much lower than the my10 Impreza RX.

So have you decided to buy it yet? If you after a manual Sydney city Subaru have a manual black demo done around 2500km last time I checked and they got big discount on that car I think. Make sure you find the right sales man when you go. Picking the right salesman will really save you lots of money and time. I bought mine from there and got a really good price compare to other Subaru dealer in Sydney. I went to 3 different dealer before I decide to buy.

Sutton Subaru had a blue auto demo for sale, but 3 weeks ago I checked it's already done 6000 - 8000km and the discount is not that big so not really a good deal.

I am interested in a non-black Auto. The car I test drove had the full body kit, and my impression is the rear spoiler and mesh grill vastly improve the look of the car, the rest (especially the lower rear bumper) don't improve things.

I went out with Roddez and the car is weird in that it has very sporty performance but doesn't feel as harsh as a sporty car... it cruises over road seams and bumps much more comfortably than the 09, yet is tight in the corners and corners extremely well (It can outcorner me anyway - ie I wouldn't be driving it at the bleeding edge).

And, yes, it goes like a scalded cat! have to really watch the speedo...

Perhaps it's not properly worn in yet? Now that you're probably done 500kms I'd say it's time to drop the oil out and replace with new.

Yes it's done 500km now. I am looking for a service center to help me change the oil. Maybe I should buy the oil myself.

What's the best quality oil to get for the my10 GT auto?

So now it's done 500kms can I start driving the car in AT and slowly now? instead of having to push it?

Remember to always compare price with 3 different dealers before you get it. You'd be surprise. Go around to get some quote first. Then go to Sydney City subaru ask for George Mikal Not sure if I spell his name right. He gave me the best price.

I think there are still some GT left that arrived with my car's shipment. they are built in Jan. so it's 2010 MY10 not 2009 My10. If you don't get the Jan built then you might have to wait for March built.

Question. does the spoiler really help with the down force? or it's just there for look. and I don't think the factory spoiler look nice. I prefer a bigger one I think.

Also the engine is very quite which is good. I am going to change to STI muffler later I hope it's still quite I don't like noisy cars.

I'm not sure if the Liberty rear bootlid spoilers are wind tunnel tested, but I imagine any type of contraption on there which slows down the airflow will reduce lift at the rear of the car at high speeds.

It's only wings (proper airfoils) which generate down force.

Both spoilers and wings cause drag though.

Personally I like my rear spoiler because it gives a high mounted rear LED brakelight, and it makes it easy to judge when reversing.

update* I've done 380km and still have half tank patrol left with BP ultimax. What the hell did the dealer put in when it finish a tank in 360km? they must've given me water......

when I pick up the car from dealer was full tank. but up to 360km with dealer's petrol the tank was already empty...

Does your fuel needle take a while to drop off the full mark? If so, that might explain things a little

it is very strange. it can do around 300km and still half tank left so i assume it will do 600km full tank but then suddenly at around 400km the half tank would empty. today I just refilled again with Vpower let's see how long this tank is gonna last.

Do you not have an electronic readout of fuel remaining?
