Some more EH goodliness







The original four (YES 4) fuses in factory spec just wasn't going to cope with the slight increase in electrics now installed in the car, including:
Halogen Low/High Beams
Driving lights
Air Horns
Aux Guages (middle of the dashboard)
Windscreen washers
CD Radio
6 Stacker
DVD Head Unit
DVD LCD Screen

So I removed the cardboard glovebox and created this ... The ability to run an additional 20 fused circuits, 10 on "at all times" and 10 "ignition switched" fuses. Also 5 relays. One of the relays is a master switched relay to power the fuse box

Wow the EH looks mint! Also, pardon my ignorance... but is that a stalk mounted manual transmission? I only thought they did that for autos? (I have zero idea about older cars)

Yes, commonly called a "three on the tree", using a non syncho 1st gear "crash box".

I can remember driving one of these in the 1980's that belonged to a uni mate. I remember you had to hold the gearstick a particular way when you shifted, so if it got thrown back out of gear you didn't bruise your palm.

He ended up turning it into a "mud-basher". Lifted the suspension, and turned the back axle and diff over to make it line up again, then discovered he had three gears in reverse!

There is certainly something special about driving old cars, they all have quirks.

But that is what I love about them. Start turning the steering whell about 100metres before you actually want the car to start turning. I fixed much of that with new lowered springs, shocks, HD Sway Bar (F+R) and nolethane bushes all round together with disc brakes (to replace the drums). Mine actually handles as much as power can push it.

Extractors and 2" sports exhaust make it sound much tougher than it actually is

That would be 149 cubic inches of the General's Red Motor fury.

My old Holdens had grey motors and I lusted after the awesome power Tim has at his disposal.

Under the bonnet is nothing special really

As Coyote said 149ci High Compression Holden - cast iron block with hydralic lifters and push rods, Stomberg carbie, 2" extractors, power brakes (remote booster), alternator (to replace the original generator)

Lol, The tint used to be much darker back then and yes, a matress used to hide under the old custom made carpet mat.
