Postby castek » Thu Feb 25, 2010 6:50 am

G'day my names john, and im a subie owner

i've been a member over at ozlib for a bit now, on and off. i owned a gen2 rx wagon (tuflib) then got a wrx.

now i am in a my05 2.5i liberty sedan.
no real mods to the car performance wise.

all i have done is install a pioneer slimline sub to get some more bass through the stereo
i had it booked for twin tips but the bloke didnt turn up to his shop on the saturday so i have left that idea for a bit, i am thinking of saving up a bit and getting a set of magnaflows for the rear.

here are the pics

Hey John,

The car looks really nice and clean. Got any plans for the appearance?

Welcome bud. Nice clean car... but I really dislike those bumper strips :bad: Makes it look like a granny-mobile... no offense :D

thanks

well i promised myself no modding of this car, i've stuffed around with every car i have ever owned and am losing too much money. although this car is a long term keeper i hope.

i'm gonna mod the grill, doing a mesh conversion.
i've taken the back strips off and the front ones i am doing this weekend

other than that the cars a pretty good looking standard, maybe once i get some cash together a lip kit from im will be on the cards

hmm maybe joining this place wasnt such a great idea haha

i cant help myself. i wont go and build a motor up or anything. engine wise i might just do a stainless intake, i sell the stuff so materials are pretty cheap.

i think what i meant is i wont go to the extent of my 2gen wagon.

i'm gonna give the grille a shot this weekend, anyone got a spare they can part with if i stuff mine up? hehe

Car(s): Steel Silver MY10 GT Wagon + 1985 Subaru Sherpa

Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

pain stakingly hahah

nah, i just used a heat gun to warm them up, just becareful or you'll burn the paint. then just peeled them.
as for the residue, i used eucalyptus oil and then gave the rear bar a cut and polish. still havent done the front as i've been flat out.

it left me with some nasty yellow marks on the paint where the tape was, but after a few days of being parked at work, they have gone miraculously

i dont know anyone who would think they look good.

still havent had a chance to do the front, massive cbf factor with all the rain down here in melb.

i finished the grille and am mighty annoyed, the guy didnt mix the pearl right and its turned more silver so it doesnt match.

cant afford to re-paint so i have a mismatched grille on my car now
