Its an my06, build oct05 for jan 06 shipping to Aus.
To the get Mac out you first remove the gearshift boot surround with is ensembled with the ashtray unit(the boot is stappled to the underside of the surround.)
To pull up, you get your fingers and lever the surround up where 4th gear would sit (I put the gearstick in neutral in N ). IT should pop up from where the center console meets the gearstick surround.
After you manange to lift the surround up a bit, unplug the ciggie lighter plug and then lift the surround up/around/ and off the gearstick. You start by unscrewing the silver peices under where the g/s boot was on either side.
then start along with the base of the silver sides ,gently pulling up a little and to the side to 'pop' it out the from under from where it sits/joins the centre console.
After its popped out, gently pull the sides towards you(there are 3 clips which should unliclip. 1 at the bottom, 2 where the side strip curves up, and 3 at the top.
The Same goes for the other side.
then you should be presented with the stereo and a long both sides the are 5ish? screws on either side .
the climate control and stereo both 'come out' togeather as a whole unit.
you dont need to remove the bottom screw on each side, but the next 3 im pretty sure.
After 6 screws are removed, the stereo can now be pulled forward slightly. As you are sliding the stereo forward. on the top left, unplug the "hazard" wire, its a white plug(the "pushclip" of the plug is on the bottom side. then pull some more and it should pop right out(if it feels a bit tight, have a look in and you should notice that there is some black tape holding the Aerial. cut it and it should free up some more 'wire' to pull.
then flip the stereo over so you can see the back and the 13pin slots/clips in.
I fed the aux cable down and behind the climate control so it will sit next to the ECU. I then hooked up a double ended male 3.5mm jack cable and 'threaded' up and out through the ashtray(there is room).
Then when the cable is not in use, you can sit the plug in the ashteray and close it

Hope this helps
