I've read a lot about these Phat mufflers on the site, but who actually makes them?

He does not have a "workshop" as such, but produces some exhaust products through contacts, and imports many parts from japan at prices better than many.

How do Phats quad tips compare to Sti's noise wise?

Better, you get more of the boxer rumble and they are also less restrictive. Look on You-Tube for a number of clips put up by Arith and others. :wink:

Thanks Bob, I'll have a look, I mean listen. :D

Sounds like they might be too loud for me, I'm just after something a little more interesting than std.

I'd did try a set of Hi-Techs awhile back but found them too drony for my liking.

The Phat quads are a touch quieter, but it sounds like you're more after the STi quads, which still has a lot of the OEM internals to keep it nice and quiet. Otherwise if you can spare the money, a set of K2 Gear quad tips will be the ultimate. Perfect for those wanting quiet during idle and normal cruising, but a nice note during hard acceleration. Plus it looks awesome! :D Expensive though! But definitely worth every penny. You'll find it difficult to find any aftermarket mufflers which can achieve near stock sound levels.
