Introduce yourself

3.0R - First Subaru

Postby austin » Sun Jan 03, 2010 10:12 pm

Hi everyone I'm Tom. Recently purchased a black MY05 3.0R after owning a 1997 vectra jr gl for about a year. Quite the upgrade I say.
I live down on the Mornington Peninsula in VIC. Just doing lighting mods at the moment but do plan to get new rims.
I'm a young'un on here, turining 20 this year but the forum has been a lot of help in sussing out the cars, what you can do and what everyone else has done.
Was going to buy a 1999 BMW 323i, but for the same money picked up the 3.0R which is a far nicer car in my opinion. Thanks in advance for answers to any questions!

That'll soon change, the guys on here could sell ice to an eskimo (or is that Inuit:P). What wheels were you thinking of getting? Post up some pics when you can so we can all have a perve!

Michael.

cheers for the welcome guys. i'll put some pictures up soon.

i'm not sure on the rims just yet, need to financially recover from the purchase yet haha.
the right headlight has a weird pattern of light compared to the left, thinking of getting some HIDs soon.

If you think your light pattern is weird now it will be even worse when you put HIDs in, unless you are doing a proper conversion involving new projector lens. Perhaps check that your headlights are aligned properly, and put some good H7 bulbs in firstly, which will give you an even spread of light.

Forget all the blue and other well marketed bulbs. Go straight to the Osram Rallye 65W H7 bulb they are rated at 2100 lumens and only require minor trimming of a plastic clip on the bulb to fit into the H7 headlamp. They will give you around 50% more brightness than the stock bulbs with no compromise on beam focus or bulb life.
