Postby andy85 » Fri Jan 22, 2010 10:05 am

Im thinking of gettin:
2 Sets of Boston SPZ60s Splits powered by 2 GT24s
1 G5 Boston Sub powered by the GT28
All hooked to a Pioneer PRS Series.... the P90

With this setup im sure its gonna rip the shitty Macintosh =]

my mortgage and 3 back operations last year dictate my audio and mod budgets, but have done a few upgrades here and there. LOTS of Dynamat on front doors, outter and inner skins. digital designs DDC mids, CDT tweeters. Thats about it for now.

IMO for the money you are looking at spending, there would be a few more options I would choose over boston acoustics, I have always found boston's tweeters a bit harsh for my liking.

my choices when looking to spend about $1.5k on speakers would be CDT ES-062i, a/d/s 346is, digital designs DDA-W6.5s to name a few.

But like I said, that is just my personal preferences.

Are you looking at sound deadening??? IMO there is no point running $1.5k speakers in non deadened doors, you will lose ALOT of midbass. $500 speakers in deadened doors will sound better the $1.5k speakers in non deadened doors.

That G5's gonna be bangin. I only have a G210, but the clarity and tonal warmth is incredible for the price!

not quite as high-end as some... but I have an Eclipse AVN726EA headunit and Alpine PDX-5 amp powering the stock McIntosh speakers, all doors and parcel shelf sound deadened using Dynamat (both inner and outer membranes).

I found Boston and Polk Audio sounded best to my ears. IMO the Bostons had the clarity n bass i was looking for.
Though i havnt listened to digital designs before so i cant say anythin about the DDs

Yeah sound deadening is a MUST. Gotta get the most outta the speakers as much as possible =]

What type of music do u guys listen to?

tbh i'll never own DD again. I got 3 DD subs sitting in my room atm. When the old distributor used to sell it, it was worth the money. Now that the new company has taken over, your paying too much for what your getting.... 2512 sub, i bought for 350 with the old distributor. Now paying over 500 for it
