Navman Navdesk 2009 Issues

Postby Adrian2627 » Tue Jan 19, 2010 3:13 pm

This is one for the software gurus.

Trying to update the maps on a Navman S150 and am having no end of problems with the Navman Navdesk software. Basically the software that comes with the unit (v6) isn't compatable with the current maps and needs a service pack to work. Once the service pack is installed (v6.10.509) I'm getting Unhandled Exception errors within the .Net Framework. I spoke to Tech Support at Navman and they said it was a dll error in Windows and there is nothing they can do.

Where do I go from here? I ran a reg cleaner but still the issue persists. If anyone has any ideas please let me know as the unit isn't mine it belongs to a single mum friend of my wife's and so far she's out $150 for the maps she can't use.

Glad I sold my S150 :) I had issues with the Navdesk software as well. Both with my S150 and my parents' S45.

At least I'm not alone. Their Tech Support wasn't much use as he straight up said 'not our fault it's your computer'. I've tried it on two different machines with two different OSs and the same everytime.

What operating system do you have now? Do you have any Service Packs installed?

I have a DVD then you need to DL a patch. There are 3 different patches and the first two are fine then the third throws the errors. The third is the one you need to load the downloaded ISO maps. I tried opening the ISO and putting it on a DVD but it doesn't work.

Jim I'm running Vista Home Premium with SP2

The image is the pop-up containing the error code. Yesterday I was getting .Net Framework handling exceptions but now I'm getting VB errors. I checked the registry for invalid keys and that's all good as far as I can see. I know my way around a computer but this is way over my head.

Try uninstalling the .net framework and uninstallaing navman 2009

Reinstall Navman and .net

Also try the run as administrator
