Are you a member of Mobile Electronics Australia??? If you can fit 5.25s in, as they are just for rear fill take a look at the Digital Designs 5.25" Coaxial Speakers. They are pretty grunty for a 5.25 and they are stupidly cheap.

They have about 3 left.

No worries. I bought set of the 6.5" splits. Awesome midbass. The 5.25s should be pretty good as well.

what speakers did yours have std? are they a mcintosh? are they ok??

i have focals, although i broke one driver which is off getting repaired (braid and the wire from the voice coil are open cct)

my missus car (SP23 07 model, lux spec) has the bose system, and the speakers in that are pretty good. as is the small sub under the seat.. id like to do a similar type of sub in the front of my car. maybe under the seat or in the footwell ?

yeah i had the factory McIntosh 4 ways which i found pretty p1ss p00r so replaced them with the DDC6.5s in my signature. also had the front doors deadened both inner and outer skins which helps with the mid-bass. although since then i have grown to dislike the DDC tweeters, they are a bit "bright" for my liking, so i am waiting on delivery of some CDT tweeters and x-overs which i am hoping won't make my eyes bleed.

my parents have a mazda6 with the bose system, and yeah, they aren't a bad OEM stereo. the 6 has an 8'' IB sub in the parcel shelf like the libs with the mcintosh system. i'm still deciding what sub i am going to replace the factory one with in my lib, but i am thinking of the Vibe exact8 which are a great sounding sub that can be run IB.

what h/u, amps etc are you running???

if you are definitely after an underseat sub apparently the invisabass (i think that's what they are called, maybe double check with the MEA guys/girls) unit isn't too bad for what it is. aaaaaalthough, i am trying to offload some of my gear that's sitting in cupboards etc that won't be going into the lib if you need amps or i have 2x jl audio 12w3v2's for sale as well. a mate of mine may be buying them, he is just trying to clear it with his wife so i may close the topic if his wife lets him buy it.

head unit is the venerable CDA9815 alpine
splits focal poly' 165V3's
front amp Audison LRX2.250
sub is a jaycar carbon fibre DVC running in series 8 ohm, in a large ported box,
amp is a 2x150 bridged

nothing flash, but the combination is well matched and sounds nice
