V-tune demise

Postby vaccine » Thu Dec 10, 2009 2:17 pm

Vin no longer works for STi doculands, so no more v-tunes.
docklands will also no longer be doing any tuning of vehicles.
dyno will be used for power runs, and checking of vehicles.

Well hopefully if I have the time and the research on the 3R looks good for me to spend time reviewing other models, all may not be lost.

I am personally looking at how much time it takes and if the effort worths it for a non-turbo motor. As an owner of the 2.0R, I do understand the need to increase power and have the car running smooth.

My next step is in the tuning process is AVCS tuning.

I have affected DBW and many fueling and Ign maps, including ignition learning delays with good effective results.

Tuning is not about the software, it's about the tuner and his/her ability to make judgments on what is safe and what is risky.

Too true but you still need a way to access the ECU. Vin had his way so maybe the new tuner has their own. How many threads are there about ROMRaider definitions for the 3.0

i agree totally, but don't forget this is Subaru STI at docklands not Joey's garage. i am sure STI are not going to jeopardise there name or reputation by doing a dodgy tune.
just my opinion.
