Where to Find Engine Number on H6

HI Guys, well I ended up buying a 2006 MY06 Liberty 3.0RB Wagon. Thanks for your feedback as it helped my decision.

I am going over to Melbourne to pick it up and make the final payment later this week, I just want to be able to check the engine number when i get it, is anyone aware where the engine number is located? Is it accesible? My last car the engine number was underneath so you needed a hoist, hence i didnt bother to check it but just thought it would behandy to know.

Isn't it on the Rego sticker? (It would be on a Victorian sticker.)

You can see it on the block, but you have to know exactly where to look.
It's on the backmost lip of the block, just where the gearbox joins on, on the passenger side.
You can only just see it without taking the engine cover off, if you have a torch.

I knew where it was, because I had to show it to VICROADS to get my rego sticker updated after the engine change.
I just went down and took those photos this afternoon to illustrate the point. I only just got around to pulling them out of the camera.
