Meguiar Medium Cut Cleaner

Postby pplwu » Wed Dec 23, 2009 3:53 pm

Hello

Recent used this product http://www.meguiars.com.au/productdetai ... cat=Mirror Glaze&subsubcat=&show=2 which successfully removes scratches and my car surface defects however after it leaves behind circular blemishes (from the applicator) now the instruction says to use Swirl Remover to remove the blemish but I don't find it effective. Anyone have similar experience?

Thanks
Pat

Yep swirl remover is never going to get rid of your polishing marring.

Megs Swirl remover is simply a 'filler' and is designed to hide very light swirls and marks by filling them in temporarily. If you used the Med cut cleaner by hand I would guess there are some decent marks to be removed (Megs Med cut is pretty damn coarse). Suggest you try follwing it with Megs Fine cut cleaner if you want to stay with the Megiuars product range to remove the marks and then the Swirl remover.

Meguiars arent bad (particularly the beige bottle range) but there is far better out there Menzerna would be a good alternative as a paint cleaner

Try to do it mechanicaly if possible for best results. Orbital sander with a foam pad will do

Thanks for the tip man. A friend of mine also told me that when I use the Meg med cut I should be reallllly gentle (I didn't) so that might be the cause as well :( will try out the fine cut and see if it fixes the paint. Thanks again

Professional product are meant to be using a Dual Action or Rotary.

Using hand can cause maybe marring or not effective in polishing the swirls etc.

Because the speed of hand can't be as constant as the DA or Rotary polisher. So u need to know the technique and which product that can use by hand.

That no.1 product is a professional meg's line.

Try to use a normal consumer line, such as SwirlX, Scratch X Ver.2, and Ultimate Compound. They all meant to be use by hand or by DA(I already try that UC can be use by rotary polisher). Because they are SMAT tech(Super Micro Abrasive Technology), it's like a lotion, not rough. So it is effective.

If u like to know more about meg's product, u can go to here: www.meguiarsonline.com

Thanks
