When I was using my wagon for business, I had to visit clients where I had to bring out boxes upon boxes of product... Plus I did the odd delivery here & there as well. The fact that you can stack things in a wagon or hatch can a big bonus, but not everyone needs that functionality... Thus why I now have Ze Beast!!! (aka VW Caddy Van)... WASABI has now been relegated to shaming sedan drivers on weekends... heheheheheheh

So short of importing a set of rear seats from the states and compromising the 5 star there's not a lot we can do? When did Subaru stop doing Bifolds?

A great number of car manufacturers have stopped doing this in recent years. As mentioned in one of my earlier posts, this may be to assist in the cars overall safety etc.

What I do know for sure is that having the back seats fixed does help the cars rigidity... That why back in the late 90's the EVO model WRX's had fixed back seats, while the standard WRX's had the 60/40 split.

Thus why is it good that companies like Subaru are giving the public a choice... If you don't need to carry much stuff, then a sedan is the option for you... If you do, then go the wagon / hatch.

Problem for me was finding a good wagon. There were so many more sedans to choose from than wagons. Damn greedy bastards! Sell me your wagon already!

Sides which... I don't need a wagon all of the time. Only maybe 1% of my total car ownership, and at those times, usually a split folding seat in a sedan would do. Hell... even the little silvia had folding seats, which came in useful probably about 20 times in total over the life of the car. Still well worth having.

Try roof racks or a rear bike rack Or better yet, ride your bike instead of taking it in your car

I'm in the same boat as Tangles... damn bike barely fits in the boot or in the car (both wheels off...)

My three choices at the moment are:

1. Roof racks with Thule bike rack system
2. Rear seat fold down MOD
3. Swap/sell up for a wagon (any takers??? LOL)

And LOL at Tangles being a man-whore...

Option 4 is to use a tow bar socket bike rack (presuming you did the smart thing and ticked the tow bar option )

If you go for option 2 I'd be interested in the details of how you go, and the difficulty. Though I think I'll end up up with a Thule system myself shortly.
