Rear seat fold-down mod

Postby tangcla » Thu Dec 10, 2009 7:49 am

I've been reading on LGT about people who have changed the rear seats in their sedans to an 07+ to get fold-down seats.

* Can I get some interior photos of an 07 Liberty rear seat? I want to compare them with an 05+.
* Has anyone else done this?

There's bugger all difference in the seats to my knowledge :) - ADM Pre-face lifted Gen 4 to ADM face lifted Gen 4.

as far as i know, my MY07 rear seats do NOT fold down. All that i have is the ski hole in the middle of the back seat.

Yeah Tangles... sorry to piss on your fire, but rear folding seats are only for the US market. I was so excited when I saw that in the feature list for the MY10... only to go the dealership and find out that we miss out on it.

Thus why the wagon is the much more practical car to go for... Despite the fact I'm a wagon fan, it's one of the main reasons the sedan was passed over when we went to purchase.

Being able to fold the seats down makes the car so much more usable, especially from a business point of view.

That being said, I seem to remember someone posting that they removed this feature as it was an issue for safety / crash rating... Unsure if it's true...

Probably. There's a lot of reinforcement behind the seats - two vertical metal rods. So it would definitely improve rigidity.

Wagon might be practical, but I don't want to look like I'm an over-forty father of two

You got to dare to be different sometimes mate :D

You need to pick the car that suits your needs the best... Thus why one of my good mates bought a Ralliart Lancer Sport Back... He liked the sedan more, but didn't suit him for work or in his personal life.

especially from a business point of view.

LOL! What kind of business are you into where you need to fold the rear seats down? :P To make say... a sort of "bed" in the back of your car. Admit you're a man-whore already

Probably more to do with your clothing and hair style than the car you drive. Driving a sedan you look like that but people know you are in denial.

Could be... but then again I can easily fit 3 bodies in my boot without the need for folding seats... not that I've tried of course. Also, when I say bodies... they may not have technically been dead at the time either... or human

So short of importing a set of rear seats from the states and compromising the 5 star there's not a lot we can do? When did Subaru stop doing Bifolds?
