VF52 Turbo

Postby GTSPECB STI » Tue Dec 08, 2009 1:51 pm

I am close now to ordering a VF52 turbocharger to replace my stock VF46. I can source a brand new one delivered (UPS) for under US$1200 and by all accounts its an easy fit with just a bit of modification to the heat shield and no additional parts required. I am currently having a mate who owns a MY09 WRX log some data so I can see how it compares to my VF46. That info should be back to me this weekend and I will post my findings then with some luck.

I'm sure you've seen this, but lots of good data here:

I have read every page of that thread :D
My mate with the MY09 WRX literally lives 300 m from my house and we are doing some controlled tests / logs. His car has 2.5 ltr and VF52 combo which will give me a very accurate picture of what I can expect. Also Teste1010 lives in Indiana which a lot colder than Perth in winter and no where as hot in the summer.

I was seriously thinking of putting in the AVO400. So it'd be interesting to see how you go.

My plan was:
- complete the exhaust (put in 3 inch center and mufflers to add to my phat dump pipe)
- cat-less uppipe
- AVO TMIC
- HKS BOV
- silicon intake pipes
- high perf. panel filter
It's the fastest who gets paid, it's the fastest who gets laid.

It won't be indicative, as the head and intake manifold are different on the WRX. The head is vastly different, and you WILL get major discrepancies between the Liberty and Impreza engine outputs.

on the stock GT-B MY07????? If so, then that's great. Some else I don't have to do.
