Pairing a key to the car

yea tell me about it. THE DAY I picked the car up after buying it and went to a mates after to have a few drinks and show him the car and went back outside to relise the doors automaticly look them selfs and ended up locking my key and spare key inside the car.

How did you manage that?
The only time my car ever locks itself, is if I unlock it, and then do not open any doors within 30 seconds. I don't see how you could lock the keys inside unless yours does it differently.

+1 Auto lock only works when i unlock it and dont open a door!

+2 im pretty sure i read in the manual that the auto lock only locks the doors if you unlock and dont open a door, and also i think theres a setting that the doors auto lock after a set amount of time from turning the car off and exiting the vehicle. Correct me if im wrong though. Either way, my car never auto locks if i open a door after unlocking it.

+3 the door only passive arms when the door is not opened 30 seconds after the doors were unlocked.

i dunno, either way though was a bit of a pain because it locked and my mates that house i was at had a good laugh but was just the biggest pain having to pay racv to come out. lesson learnt

Nope, the door would automatically unlock when it was closed.
The only explanation I can think of would be that the pin switch on that door was faulty, so the car didn't know the door had been opened. This would also mean that the intenral light wouldn't come on when that door was opened.

not to sure. the interior light still comes on when you open the door. but i do have another question but its not really related. you can only wind the windows up and down when the key is turned all the way ( 2 clicks) is there anyway to rewire it so that it works either once the key is in or turned 1 click?

One day I'm going to get around to sourcing a second hand fuse box and modifying the power for the relay coil (whose contacts the windows run off) such that it is not affected by the ignition switch position. Shits me that I need to have the ignition fully on in order to operate the windows (and even sunroof).
