I had a look at it tonight, both A and B and A was like reading 7.3 km/l and the other one was varying from 8 or so to like 50km/l.

It makes a little more sense after your post I will give it a go next time I fill up.

My 04GT uses about 8.2km/L around town, and about 12.2km/L out on the freeway.
Chucking those values into a converter on the net, so i can get L/100km.
It works out to be 12.2L/100km around town, and 8.2l/100km on the freeway.

Which isn't to bad compared to my 99 Liberty RX 2.5, considering its a turbo and all.

Oh no...

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I reset my trip metre thingy with about a 3/4 full tank.

My average is sitting on about 4.4km/l at the moment.

When I fill up in a few days I am going to do it again, to make it accurate.

But WTF 4.4km/l, what a disgrace :evil:

Did the old meters read in km/l ?
Mine only reads in litres per 100km.

I was averaging around the 11 - 12L / 100 around town and about 9L/100 on the freeway using 95 Octane.

However when I was down in Melbourne the other week, I filled up a couple of times with 98 Octane (Shell and BP). The results were very surprising.

The highway consumption from Melbourne from Sydney came down to 7.0L/100km. I haven't done enough city driving yet to get a true reading, but this appears to be lower as well. This was a real surprise as I didn't expect such an advantage with 98.

i always use 98. i drove syd to melb last week... was on 9l per 100km most of the way.

i did put 100 in it at one stage and it went down to 8l per 100km

i was pretty happy with that.. around town im on about 13... but i do drive flat out everywhere all of the time..

i give no shit for fuel economy really

I have never given a shit for fuel economy either, as a car is meant to be driven.

BUT....when I'm getting 250km for $80 to a tank, then it starts to shit me a bit.

Gee mate some thing really wrong their do you ever change out of 3rd gear ? My 3RB gets 500km to the tank with a 1200kg boat hanging off the back .
