Broadening Horizons...

Postby Laps » Thu Nov 12, 2009 5:42 pm

I have decided that since it is almost impossible for me to get a nice 10/15 spoke wheel for my car, I would try be a bit more open minded...

So I found some new inspiration...
http://www.ilovesubstance.com/images/cars/tunero_430_04.jpg

Since I didnt have a side on photo of my car, I decided to steal Ariths pic. After a bit in photo shop I came up with this...

I think that if I could find similar wheels to what I have put on Ariths car, in a light shade such as gun metal/platinum black or something, I would be very happy... :D

Found a new wheel I like from ozzy tyres...

Konig Hotswap:
http://img260.imageshack.us/i/konig.jpg/

You can interchange the silver parts for black ones...

The result is bellow:
http://img36.imageshack.us/i/konig2.jpg/

In addition, I would need to get them painted as the silver studs around the outside cannot be changed...

The guy from ozzy (who owns the lexus in the above pic) said he will do the following deal

4 x Rims (19x8 - 45 offset - 100PCD)
4 x Tyres
Spray wheels black to get desired look
Paint calipers
Wheel balance/align
--------------------------
$2500

Also just found out if I find wheels I like at tempe tyres, its only $75 per rim to get it sprayed to a new colour ;D

;D

These? IMO when you have thin spokes you need a larger number than 5. The wheel's going to look quite empty. Unless you're showing off big brakes or slotted rotors, you wanna fill in the gap a bit. I mean they'll look pretty nice when they're spinning, but just ok when stationary.

If you like the 5 split-spoke design, how about these?

I hate the chrome lip though...

And the gap between the two spokes is too wide...

I agree with Clarence and Shane,

You could always powder coat the machined edge if you didn't like it too much.

Jim - what are those wheels becuase i'd like some similar for a gen 3?

Those are the Lenso DC5 in charcoal grey from Tempe Tyres. Comes in 19x8.5 for the 5x100. Not sure what offset though, as it'll be a close call for a 8.5 wide. They come in bronze and charcoal grey as well. Which doesn't look too bad.

There's a link to charcoal ones below.
