+ i put the sock on the gear knob today to test...

I can confirm this makes a 0% difference. :(

LOLOLOL, take the gearknob with you.. That way you can keep it under aircon or freezer. :D

Or get rid of the metal crap gearknob and get a Duracon or Copolymer - fancy names for plastic which don't get hot.

Disappointed to hear that the sock didn't work. Windscreen shield worked well it kept the shiftknob within bearable heat levels and once you get moving it cools down quickly anyway. I'm not getting that Duracon one just to save a little bit of pain for 4 months in a year :)

Yeh, it was even a thick footy sock...

So from this we can conclude the knob gets hot from the temperature, not the actual sun shining on it...

When i took the sock off i didnt even think to check the temp, i thought it would be normal. Hand paid the price for my stupidity...

I defs need to get a windscreen cover, only problem is i get paid monthly :( (only 7 days to go!)

I've personally got window shades for both front AND back. Plus some meshies for the side windows. Leave the sunroof cracked open about 5mm to let the hot air escape (with the sliding cover still closed) and the heat is much more bearable

I try to park under trees/shade sails. But honestly, today the temp was 44 here in Mildura, and honestly there isnt a whole heap that can be done :(
