Hi guys,

Finally got this off a member here. Few questions:

(1) Are there/will any aftermarket calipers fit to the stock GT brakes? Maybe Subaru calipers, etc? If not then I will paint them red....do you know how much this will cost and whether the paint will flake off in time?
(2) Where can I get the rotors machined and also is it worth it? I just want to have the shiny and clean look with the rotors...will this be expensive? If it's too expensive, should I just get a set of rotors for the fronts, anyone can recommend any?
(3) Last but not least, anyone can recommend good brake pads for me that will fit, the two main thing is price, performance and brake dust levels (don't want to get my wheels dirty).

Cheers guys,

2) If the rotors have a slight dark blue/black colour to them I'd say they've been used moderately hard. This isn't a bad thing. Give it something like 5000km of city driving (providing you don't hammer them) and the brake pads will polish the rotors for you.

3) I can recommend the Hawk Ceramic pads for low noise and low dust (less than stock IMO). Less bite when cold but for general around town they'll do you fine.

1) Can't recommend different calipers. There's a chance you'd have to get rotors to match others anyway :? As for painting, a few guys have done it. haven't heard any reports of flaking or such on the good applications

Hope that helps

Hey buddy, thanks heaps that helps a lot! I rang V-Sport and they also recommended Hawk Ceramic Pads so I will go with that and it only costs $181 which is quite reasonable in my opinion. And I think I will just paint my calipers Red for purely 'cosmetics' purposes hehe....

$181? That's a nice $15 cheaper than I got the fronts from them in January.
