All up with the bloody import fees from customs was about $1800.00. Not cheap but considering what I paid for the car new and as a one off, Im not complaining.
The mufflers are exactly what Im after, they look a bit big but are very nice, when driving you just get a nice hum just soft, when cruising along at 80 - 100 u dont even hear em, but when u floor it they make a burp like noise between gears, under full throttle its got that turbo like thrust noise coming out the back, very funny in tunnels etc.

Apart from that Im very happy with it as I bought this car as a settle down car and didnt want any attention from the Police. I was gonne get the Hi tech mufflers which you can save some cash, they are nice sound as well but a different sound altogether and a bit loud for my liking. I hope this helps.

Got the car back from Docklands today, ended up with an extra 15 kw. It had 105 atw ( auto ) and now has 120. Also sounds a bit better and u can hear the engine metallic noise a bit more as well with a slightly better note. I did like the rally cars there... mmmmmm

Awesome result. How do you find the drivability? Does the auto have a problem with the drive by wire and did the tune sort that out?
That was the biggest benefit from my experience.

Vin was saying that I had to get used to the fly by wire response as it was normal, I have ony driven it home on the freeway for now, Will see more tomorrow when I go back to work. First impressions are there is a bit more up the top end, more of a note and I can hear more of that metallic noise coming from the motor,

Does seem a bit more smoother so we'll see how it goes. So far so good. The new Liberty dash looks like the Tribeca to me or am I imagening it? I did like the DVD stereo system, If only mine had that.

did Vin happen to say anything about the legal issues?????
Might go for a drive down there tomorrow, bought my my04 GT wagon about 3 months ago, I am still getting used to the throttle response.
Think it had a bit of work done b4 i got it as it peaks at nearly 1.5bar according to the defi boost gauge installed, and has a non stock turbo pie to inter cooler.
Shits all over my '94 Legacy GT i had before this, but thats a given!!!

I don't think Vin will be able to tune your GT, from what I've read he's only tuning NA cars at the moment.

A crazy thought popped in my head as I was thinking about wanting more power for my lib..

I read in a previous post that there was an idea to have Vinny come up to Sydney to do some tunes here..Has Vinny ever considered this or has someone approached him about this?

If he's charging 300 /tune, depending on volume interested I'm willing to pay extra on top to cover his costs, flights and accommodation, and a show up fee etc. etc...

I know this sounds crazy, and not sure if possible, but I like the idea.. I thought I'd throw it out there to see if there's any interest

Let's imagine we have 15 people interested..
Saturday Tune day
Flights - $300
Hotel (3 Nights) - $600
Meals - $180
Show Up Fee - $800
Dyno Hire? $130 X 8 hrs (not sure how long each car would take) - $1040. I'm assuming Vinny will need a dyno, but I'm not sure how much dyno hire costs either... Does Subaru Sydney have a dyno that Vinny could partner up with? Does anyone here know any places ?

Total $2920

Uncertainties:
How long does each Vin-tune take?

For 15 cars, that's $2920+ $4500($300/tune) = $495/person

$495 for an extra 10-15KW is great value, although not as excellent as $300...I think it's a pretty good deal for Vinny to make extra $$$, and a good deal for us...
Saves us from driving down to Melbourne :P and the extra $195 would probably be eaten up by fuel costs if were to drive down there.

Crazy? Who's interested? hahahahaha..

I'd be interested in that, if Vin agrees of course!

I was contemplating making the trip to Melbourne, but I would have had to take a week off work to do that! I can do a day try to Sydney (about 5 hours each way). Would have to ensure I could get the tune done in the middle of the day though, otherwise I would have to stay somewhere overnight.

Vin might also do the tune part a bit cheaper, as he would normally be handing most of the money from his tunes over to STi Docklands, where he would keep it in this case.

You would havto think about A: What equipment he needs to do the tunes...it may be a non-transportable unit? Not sure. And B: He has the cars for most of the day for the tunes. That doesnt mean he takes an entire day to tune them, but he has them for the day when he tunes at STi. Would havto be something you would havto find out. And, would he even be aloud (Would it be a tune that HE has come up with? Or the company?)? And would he personally want to be liable for that many vehicles? Especially with the legal matters that his workplace is obviously going through. Sorry to piss on your parade, it would be fantastic if you COULD get him up there...but these are just a few points i though up :D

It's just a crazy idea at this stage. Yeah , those legal and other uncertainties may present a problem and would be something to verify

I'm assuming I can ring up STI Docklands and just ask for him, so I'll try contacting him by the end of the week, and see what his thoughts are.

Fingers crossed

sorry, but nearlly $500 for an extra 15-20kw is a joke and a rip.
why doesnt every chip in and get 1 tune, then just copy it to the other cars.
tatrix cable and a laptop is all you need with free software.
only tables that would need copying would be fuel/timing/throttle maps.
supprised no one has posted it up on here yet.

better yet, when my mate reggie comes down with his 06 spec-b in a few weeks, we can get it tuned and then i can rip the map and post up for people to have a look at. anyone wanna chip in?? :yahoo:

vinnie also doesnt take a whole day to tune car, he will have a map he has made and just flash it on.
stick car on dyno and then check for knock which there shouldnt be as he tunes are way concervative.
