Looks reasonable except for stage 9 - exhaust $2000 on a N/A car?

He probably wants an uber l33t titanium exhaust? :?

Nice list, IMHO that is a LOT to spend on cosmetic mods for a 2.5i!

Upwards of $800 for mufflers. probably similar for a centre pipe. And depending on the shop, anywhere between $500 and $1500 for extractors/headers. So, if you were wanting to do a full exhaust, $2k is easily spent IMO

Although I agree thats a lot to spend on a 2.5i, there are some over exaggerations in price, as well as parts that can be carried over to a new car if he chooses:

Stage 1 – Lowering – Springs - $500 Fair Price
Stage 2 – Roll Guards - $100 Only 2 guards but may not need to be done
Stage 3 – Rims/Tyres - $3000 Can be carried to a GT Later
Stage 4 – Brake Callipers Paint - $100 DIY for $30 I would say
Stage 5 – STI Front Lip - $700 Again, carry over or sell separate
Stage 6 – Number Plates - $420 yeah, sunk money
Stage 7 – HID Kit - $300 Just get blue vision globes!!, 1/3 the cost
Stage 8 – Pedal Kit - $250 can carry over
Stage 9 – Exhaust - $2000 waste of $$ for little gain. Get a set of mufflers only that can be carried over

My list is simple:

Wheels *done*
Springs *bought, yet to be fitted*
20% Tint all round $350
Open source Tune *Free with help from Tuner in the US ;)*

So yeah, funds spent will be limited over the next 18 months of ownership, at which point car will become 100% wifes car so not looking to do *too* much to it.

18 months time I'll be shopping for an 08 Tuned by STi sedan! :)

Blue vision globes with parkers are actually $60 ;) so 1/5th the cost. Plus the fact that HID retrofitted to a non HID lens is illegal. Painting the calipers yourself will prob cost more like $40-50 in the end. You'll need to clean em up a bit prior to painting.

Lol im more about looks than performance...

I just put $2000 down for the exhaust cause when I called an exhaust shop, he said he would have to custom make one and I shoul dbudget between 1500 - 2000 for full catback/tips stainless steel etc etc. I only want the exhaust to make the car louder

As for callipers, Id rather pay a professional to do it, and for HIDs, id rather just spend the extra $200 to get proper lights.

and im only 19, so Ill be waiting for another 6 years or so before I get a turbs car lolll

Maybe if I can get cheap insurance on a GT in two years I could upgrade

then delete resonator in centre pipe and get yourself a set of free flowing mufflers like the phats or similar. Way cheaper and will achieve the same outcome...more noise.

Thought I would really "splash out", so gathered up all my savings and bought........
Second hand K-Mac springs from Adhar!

I know spring control won't be the greatest with OEM shocks (75k now), but right now I don't have the $$ for coilovers or bilsteins/spring combo and I want it lower. The fender gap is driving me crazy!?!

So I figured seeing as the car is used mostly for to/from work and carting the family round on weekends 98% of the time (straight roads) I figured I'll live with them. One day down the track when I get the sedan I will look at putting the OEM shocks from the sedan into the wagon, and get coilovers for the sedan..... but now I'm trying to predict the future 8)

My stock dampers have only done 50KKms and with the Swift springs (which aren't that firm) it is quite bouncy by my judgement. But the reduced height and firmer springrate does lead to less pitch/dive which is a vast improvement over stock. It is only when you are pushing the car a bit that it quickly becomes obvious that the dampers are inadequate.
