ooh i'd like to see the hitatchi as well xD

I saw one of the newer pioneer units with satnav, dvd playback and the full works for a sound system.. at a cost of 4K but it looked like it would also fit into the same moulding easily..

I'd feel the 2.0R would be a bit weak.. if it came down to a Euro or a 2.0R i'd get the Euro..

Short of a really sudden change of mind (which CAN always happen, of course), I've decided to get a 2.5i sedan. I took one for a drive and it was quite nice. I enquired how much it would cost to have Satnav put in a 2.5i. I thought it was obscene when the guy at the Subaru dealership told me that it wasn't available as an option on that model. They could fit it at the dealership as an aftermarket option but that would cost $3990! Considering that the 2.0R and the 2.5i are the same car (except for the engine and the sunroof), and they've had the Satnav as an option on the 2.0R for either $500 or free as it is now, that's nothing but a ripoff.

In any case, I hope to be a more "legitimate" member of this group within the next few weeks. I haven't ordered a car yet, but I have submitted my finance application.

Thanks to everyone in this and other threads who've helped me make my decision.

here's some other random info between the 2.0 and the 2.5

insurance is more expensive on the 2.0
the 2.0 is more expensive to fix if u break it.
resale on the 2.5 is better.

the 2.5 cost almost next to nothing more to run if you are mainly in the city.

these are some of the reasons why i also ended up with the 2.5 instead of the 2.0

I'm not sure which insurance company you're dealing with. I've checked with two online and they both want more to insure a 2.5.

Sorry couldn't sell the Feroza she is a part of me she still loves a run on the beach and she is a true 4x4 not like these tin boxes of today .Pulled a 2.5 Forester 20k up the beach he he he what a joke they are.

Graeme , I got insurance through Subaru which is was only $20 more than my other quotes . The sealer was if the car was written off in the first 3 years , then they would replace the vehicle with a new one .

In regard to fuel economy , my wife is getting 700k out of a tank.
The 2.5 mechanically is great .

I've pretty much decided on the 2.5 now. I just have 1 or 2 queries back with the dealer regarding what they'd trade my current vehicle for. That way I can make a decision on what way I want to go as far as finance is concerned.

i think most ppl here will give you a biased opinion
it is best for you to drive both cars and make up your own mind.
at the end of the day you are the one whos driving it.
the 2.0R did it for me
same power output, little less torquey,
though it revs more freely than the 2.5
and the overall NVH of the vehicle is better IMO
whatever your decision may be, congrats on a new liberty
they are great cars.
