I've tried multiple times reading the very confusing guides posted online but they are all outdated/inconsistent and have steps missing. Even Timur himself emailed me with further instructions which I couldn't follow. Please PM me if you can assist. Will pay cash.

after googling for a while, it seems like its only available for download if you donate €25
anyone know of any alternatives for nexus 7 gen 2 (2013)
i havent commited to buying a tablet yet cause im not sure if i should go nexus 7 2012 or 2013 version
autodroid seems like its only available for 2012 so i might end up going for one of those just to lower costs on both tablet and rom

It's pretty easy mate.
Try this tool, seems to have some good reviews.

As for ROMS, for the 2012 you have Timurs or Autodroid. (I'm using Autodroid).
For the 2013 you only have Timurs (paid) or update lollipop, then root and install various apps.

Yep, paid for it. Personally I think €25 is cheap to enable its functionality.
I would say definitely go the Nexus 2013 for 2 reasons - (1) twice the RAM = faster & better future proofing; (2) higher res screen.
phly wrote:Yeah im leaning towards the Nexus 2013. Pretty hard to track one down these days tho. Might have to buy 2nd hand from ebay or gumtree. With your current setup on lollipop, what features are missing that require Timur's rom?

Took me 2hrs though, kept hitting dead ends trying to find ADB Windows drivers. My computer skills are reasonably advanced and this was hard, so I def wouldn't recommend a novice attempt it! Sorry for all the spamming of this thread, and thanks to those who responded.
