Note to others about what in my opinion is a _not-so-obvious_ warning about these issues on the advancedice website, you need to check the vehicle compatibility tab where (after getting excited by the features summary) you get told that it might not work as advertised on your Subaru and you may not return it for that reason.
As per my email- The unit does not operate from the Aux button. You need to press the CD button a second time to activate the Anycar and the display will show CDC. The aux on the Anycar is activated by pressing the AS/RPT button and the AnyCar blue light will not come on until the unit has been activated. You don't need to change the dipswitches or press the reset button
