Installing headunit

Postby PoweredX » Fri Nov 23, 2012 5:02 pm

Hey guys,
Just brought my headunit today cause it was on a mad deal and couldn't resist. But i don't really want to pay another $150 to get it installed unless I really have to. Just wondering if anyone was ever so kind to come round (or i come to you) and help me install it. I can pay you if you like just not alot thats all :P

It is super easy! Have you pulled your dash out before and removed the standard HU?

Whs, as long as you can use a test light, you can fit a stereo, 3 main wires- constant power, acc, earth., then its just a matter of hooking up the speakers, very easy, dont pay someone to do it

I'd probably reccomend going to Supercheap or similar and getting aerpro harness(s) to plug right in, no cutting or soldering or stuffing around. Literally plug and play.

My 2c :)

Thats what we are doing. Although we are not getting the ISO to Aftermarket one as the few that I have used in the past have had issues with correct pin match ups etc, and have therefore required soldering anyway.

3 main wires yeah, although then you have to figure out which wire is the antenna amp and there is also the matter with the speakers and not knowing correct polarity. Sure, you will know which wires go to which speaker, but if you have your front right and front left out of phase, you will get sound cancellation at certain points and it will sound like crap.
