But $65k is also the Australian price. I highly suspect that since they didn't bother to convert kw to HP or torque from nM to pounders/inch, they left the price in Australian as well.
Because with the car market there being so highly competitive, there is no way anyone would pay over $40k for a Subaru no matter what features it has.
Man, I would never buy a STi! Too pricey!
Errr Jim, that legacy post is from the Melbourne Motor Show!
$65K is the aussie price.
Kaycy - Their wording of Subaru Liberty GT Spec B tuned by STi PROTOTYPE i suspect was because it probably wasnt a complete car like our WRX STi in the Sydney show. Same thing, fake wheel covers and blacked out interior.
It also like other have mentioned gives them an allowance to decide what will/wont be on the car.
I always thought the brembos were staying the same just black calipers. Never heard anything of rebranding them STi.
Phil.

I thought it was one of the American motor shows. Thought it was just lazy marketing!
If I can't squeeze out more kw from this one after the K2 exhaust (and perhaps downpipe and CAI) and re-tune, I'm just going to chuck the car in the bin.
I'll just buy another JDM Spec B grille and slap on the STi sill plates. Ta-da! Instant MY08 upgrade!
