In short, Peter Brock was once the favored son of Holden, and he ran their official race team (HDT, the "Holder Dealer Team"), and resold specced up Commodores.
(In the process, his people checked all the engines and gear going through their operation, and grabbed the best performing "standard" bits to go on his racecars, which were supposed to be "standard production models" back in those days.
Someone talked him into fitting a piece of garbage called a "Polarizer" to his special versions, which was supposed to make the car run better, and also allowed you to run extremely low tyre pressures.
Holden tried to talk him out of fitting it, because they had a very cozy relationship, where the Brock modified cars were covered by a Holden warranty, and they weren't going to guarantee something they didn't understand.
They bent over backwards to try to let him prove it worked, but of course it never did, and the relationship fell in a heap.
HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) was created by Holden to fill in the void after HDT crashed.

May be off topic but not realy as silly as you may think. Now days when you buy your new car they offer electronic rust protection for all new cars and when you look into it you see some coincidences in design and application although the desired out come has changed.

HIclones have beena round for years and are REALLY worht every cent! You guyd don't knwo what on earth you're talking about! But the REAL improvement comes form installing them to your exhaust (a little known trade secret). I have one in each exhaust pipe pre-cat converter and fuel consumption has decreased by a demonstrable 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000

I dare say you drop on 0.2L/100kms is from the colder weather and not from the hi-clone, they are complete bullshit unless you have a 1981 VB Commodore
