Has anyone installed a front strut brace into their Subaru GT by themselves before?
I just bought a Whiteline Strut and it seems that the engine cover is blocking the brace from fitting snugly.
Is there a technique or do I have to cut/remove the engine cover?

Umm, not sure about the Whiteline strut, but as far as I've experienced, the Cusco and STi ones do not require removal nor cutting of the engine cover.

Mounted! No cutting of the engine bay required. It took us a bit longer as we do not have the correct wrench sizes. All in all 20mins.

on average a strut bar will cause your suspension to 'work' about 10% (quite a large increase for 200-400$ worth) more (reducing the chassy from twisting, body roll etc.). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEyScsp6Lxc may show you a bit better.
