Of course, if you're racing, you'd not have a stock gearbox either (or you wouldn't hold out much hope for a stock gearbox to last).

The drags recently run at Eastern Creek were on SBS yesterday, watching the drivers row through the gears on their sequential shifters, there wasn't much mechanical sympathy being shown. :)

My WRX, race changed every other day. Stock gearbox, stock clutch and both still have 180000 and still going. Maybe I didn't try hard enough :/

Knowing where the "fuses" are in a WRX drivetrain, I'd suggest you weren't treating it as badly as you made out then.

I must admit that I haven't flat changed this car, but have done in most of my previous cars.

Done right , read quick enough, no worries!!!

If you change good enough it's almost as quick anyway.

And Newbie, go out side and put it in neutral and start your car put your foot to the floor and let it bounce off the limiter a few times..... still won't do shit!!!
