underneath it? didn't look there. Didn't seem to be anything noticeable when I stuck my head in the airbox. Will look again tomorrow .....

the white bottle jim is talking about can only be seen if you take the whole air box out. Because it sits in a compartment above the wheels. Well something like that lol

It's external to the airbox... if that helps.

when it comes to sound, i think the GEN4 N/A libertys got short changed. The GEN3s actually sound deep, and you can hear the boxer engine.

What's very interesting is that Smythie & I have MY06 3rb manual sedan's and our intake chambers are differently internally.

also in another thread, smythies airbox has 2 bolts (1 x front & 1 x rear)to hold down the airbox, mine has 1 bolt at the rear.

would love to find out why subaru made this change..

Took my resonator in my 2.5i the other day, makes a nice Air Induction noise indeed. Was tempted to buy a K&N Panel Filter or a HKS off the forum here, but instead got a OEM Filter for $13.60 and am extremely happy with the noise after taking out the resonator. Saved myself money, and confident a K&N would've given me next-to-nothing worth of power gain. Still got 8 air filters before the K&N becomes worth it :P

Or you can do what I did, and Spend $1000 on a Cold Air Intake, increase the cars performance by .9999999999999kw and make it run nice a easy on petrol around 8/9L per 100km. As well as making the car sound like darth vader in the mornings. Not to mention a nice 3.5" stainless steel pipe instead of the black plastic from factory.

Also before my CAI I bought a K&N panel filter, and the only change was the exhaust note(from non stock exhaust) changed, and was a little more like a boxer, then the CAI made the note a little louder, and lot more beefier.

I am totally happy with the whole CAI, its a little over the top sound wise, but hey I like it :)
