Nice parkers

Yeah the iPhone camera doesn't do them any favours!

paggaz wrote:What temp are those foglights?

4300, or 4000. I can't remember.
Still legal in Vic.

The lights look really OEM how they are. (If xenons were OEM)
Cops won't pick up on them

Question:
I have access to a hoist, a spring compressor, and mechanically-handy friends.

I've been considering Tein S techs to go with the factory bilsteins, but i don't want a harsh ride, i wan't it to be only slightly stiffer than stock.
I also don't want it too low for practicality reasons.

If i can get my hands on a cheap set of STI pink springs, how much would it lower it, and would the handling/ body roll/ steering lag improve at all?

STi springs lower it 15 -20mm, Teins approx 40mm.

My advice: don't stuff around with lowering springs - if you're going to do it once, you may as well do it properly. Lowering springs will need revalved shocks otherwise you're just sending them to a premature death, plus the ride will be shit.

For a few hundred more than the above set up you can go a brand new set of BC BRs which are height adjustable to the mm and you don't need to worry about mismatched springs to dampener combinations. Plus, you get pillowball mounts for the fronts for easy camber adjustment as well as 30 click dampener adjustment.

A few hundred more? how much a BC's? Jay already has the bilsteins, the only cost will be springs which are MAX 450 if he goes Teins, ~250 for STi's

You're forgetting the cost to get each strut revalved

You could probably get away without revalving for the STi pinks, but then again why bother if you're only getting a 10-15mm drop? BCs new are around $1200 new, and given all the advantages they offer, why wouldn't you get them?

There was no difference between the billies with standard springs and the billies with STi pink's apart from the springs having slightly different rate's and height differences.

Keep in mind that I want to improve the suspension purely for handling.
I don't care how much of a drop there is with springs or coil overs.
The height it is at the moment suits a blacked out wagon.

Coil overs would be great just to be able to stiffen them up when I know I'll be driving hard.
And softer for daily driving

Was considering painting my callipers tomorrow.
Then i realised i'd much rather line my doors with Dynamat or Road Kill. Trying to source some tomorrow morning. I don't want to have to order it in because tomorrows my only day off for a while. Fingers crossed either two autobarns, supercheap or repco have some in stock!
