Or drill the mounting hole bigger to suit the bolt like I did.

There wouldn't be much left of that ring if you had to drill it out to fit the seat bolts, which from memory are pretty big about 8-9mm diameter. Best to cut your losses, sell that bling terminal (which probably will be out of sight anyway) and get something that would actually do the job in your desired application.

The terminal arrived... the ring is quite thick though :(

Correct, hence I got a 5 channel amp :) Stock speakers, whilst not fantastic, aren't bad.

I'll give you 1 month to blow the shite out of them. Especially the sub. Looks like you WILL have to get the parcel shelf out again soon. ;-)

Good set of kit, should give you nice clean sound. The factory cones will be a massive limit on it though, but you should hear a nice solid difference, esp now that the car's suitably deadened.

My personal choice for cabling is running everything down the passenger door edge as there's spare cable holders next to the solid ABS lines. It also keeps your power line away from the Trans tunnel which can be a great source of EMI (shown as hum in the music/blank space). An excellent earth point with a HUGE amount of earthing is the bolts around the gear stick. Make up a 4 AWG cable with gold eyelets on each end and bolt it onto that and you'll never get any earthing problems. :good:

All the gear you've got there could take you a good day or 2 to install, but given your splicing into the loom, it'll be a bit easier. Add speakers and you'll quickly end up 2+ days. ;-) Will be interested to hear your review on the install, as the McIntosh was sounding quite good after the deadening day. The one BIG advantage you'll have with the eclipse is that you can tune down the bass and up the mids which is what your system was sorely missing.

If I was Tangles and I blew the stock subbie I wouldn't bother removing the parcel shelf trim again. I'd build a box for a decent sized subbie.

Very fair point Tek. Question is how far do you want to go and how much do you value your boot room.

Actually I retract that comment I *would* remove the stock subbie so that it doesn't take up the space under the shelf. Also the opening should provide some nice airflow into the boot (I would leave the grill in place to retain stock appearance).

As long as I can get my spare tyre out and fit a couple of big gym bags in the boot that is all the space I need :). I built a slot ported box that is about 2cubic feet and meets this criteria.

Funny you should say that teK, I considered pulling the stock sub out and then mounting my sub box against the parcel so it could fire in straight through the hole. I guess if you had a ported enclosure, you could point the port staright at the hole and it'd fire directly into the back window. Should be good results from that!
