Yeah that sounds good thanks.

At this stage I'm not deadening the rear doors anyway my efforts will be focused on the fronts (I am going to do the outer and inner skins plus seal off the service access holes). I actually need to transfer the splits I had in my old car over at the same time so I will need access to a jigsaw etc for baffles anyway.

Hence my coming down to stickybeak. Depending how long I end up staying I will be happy to lend a set of hands to anyone who needs.

In the past I have used MDF sealed with spray acrylic paint to block the service access holes. Other people have used everything from masonite to sheet aluminium to polyethylene sheeting.

I had an idea recently and that is why not use that corrugated plastic sheeting that you typically find in collapsible cargo boxes etc? It's cheap, light, stiff, very easy to cut, and most importantly it is waterproof. Just cut it to shape, then gaffa tape it to the door and cover the whole shibang with sound deadener.

Good idea on the rigid plastic! I was originally going to use an 3l milk container side, but it was too small. Ended up with 3mm MDF instead.

The plastic would work fine and you'd add rigidity by deadening it. I kept my separate to the rest of the deadened door so I could remove the gaffa and cover plate for service reasons (electric window mechanism access).

As always, any spare hands are warmly welcomed on these days. :good:

btw: Don't dismiss the backs, it all helps with keeping out road noise and keeping in audio noise. ;)

The address is 264 Springvale Road Glen Waverley. COrner of Glen road.

The entrance to get in early on a sunday morning is just south of the building, and is accessed off SPringvale ROad.

THis is the sort of lighting you can expect.

Environment looks good! We'll easily get 2 cars per 3 parking bay with door wide open which is what we need.

12 car limit seems pretty much the case from what I can see. Does your work have access to a couple of long extension leads and a few powerboards? If not, I can supply this while I'm there (most of the day) just incase we need some power around the place.

btw, Ric, should I put you down as a car that will participate now?

I'd like to attend but i'm not too certain about the dates. Can I come as an observer but still be in on the group buy for the materials?
I've done a bit of this before on a previous car but could always pick up some pointers. That way I can also do it when I have more time
later on.

Feel free to attend and when the group buy fires up, join in.

There's no pressure to deaden on the day, happy to have watchers/onlookers.

No extension cords. I can bring one (that's all i have).

As for room, there is more room to the left and right, but slightly behind where the pic was taken from. So 12 is best, but 14 will still be comfortable.

Since we're ordering quite some sound deadening, we might want to organise the group purchase soon.

I'm happy to do this from the website if everyone wants to pay me for it in advance, then I make order :)
