I tried on Ricenet but the mods pulled my post 5 minutes after It went up with no explanation. I'm guessing because they want some advertising fee off the sellers or something along those lines. I can't see any competitors in the field and it certainly shouldn't upset any vendors so I don't get it. I'm really disappointed given my support on that site since 2003. Maybe I'm out of their 'target audience' these days

We have 7 or 8 atm so I'll see what the deal is tomorrow. I'd better sell some stuff to fund my purchase

A for effort mark… :) .. if it helps you could try ozliberty, you may get a few interested parties there, also ozevolution for the evo boys, circuit club forum as well

Any word on what Nav software will run on it, and how easy the maps are to obtain? :)

Quotes taken from the screen shots on their home page:

Google Earth Integration. Using the built-in GPS receiver and ECU data, you're able to log your location, see how fast you were travelling at that location, and view it later on Google Earth."

New 2x2 dash. Using glowing fonts, and bar graphs. Plenty more dashboards on the way.

This is the main screen of the ECUDatascan. It shows the main Menu button, a Reload button for reloading the most recently used settings, as well as the 'status bar'. Note that the wallpaper is completely customisable. Just put the images on your SD card, and point the ECUDatascan to the image of your choice.

The status bar shows icons that help make the ECUDatascan easy to use. The icons can be clicked to execute extra functionality, such as taking a snapshot of the screen. The time is also automatically set using the user-configureable timezone and GPS receiver to get the time.

The main menu of the ECUDatascan is used to access the functionality available. Over the coming days and weeks more buttons will reveal themselves on the menu highlighting some of the functionality available

This screen is used to configure the speaker volume, screen brightness, and FM transmitter frequency

This screen shows the type of message dialogs shown on the ECUDatascan

The business end. Here is a dashboard showing 1 gauge, which consists of 3 parameters. The gauge can be configured to show from the last 30 seconds to the last hour of data. Notice the record button, which will save all data to the SD card in CSV format. CSV files can be opened in Microsoft Excel.

Standard 3x2 dashboard, can show up to 6 parameters

Standard 3x3 dashboard, can show up to 9 parameters

Another screenshot of the Main Menu. This time we can see the Diagnostics and Performance buttons

Diagnostics screen is used to view and clear fault codes (where supported). Results from diagnostics can be saved to the SD card for review later

This screen shows the result of a 1/4 mile run. The ECUDatascan Pro uses the speed signal from the ECU to work out how long it has taken the vehicle to travel the required distance. Tests for 0-100km/h and 0-60mph are also available.

Saved dragslips are stored to the inserted SD card in plain text format, so they can be opened in your favourite text editor and posted on the web

Saved logs from the ECUDatascan Pro are saved in CSV format. Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications such as OpenOffice.org Calc can open this format. Use this to review logs at a later date, compare data, or save data from a race or test run."

Mp3 Player - When an SD card is inserted, the ECUDatascan main menu will have a Music button that launches the built-in MP3 music player. This coupled with the FM transmitter means you can play the MP3 files back on your car stereo

Mp4 Player. The built-in MP4 player plays back your favourite videos in formats that are widely used. DivX included

GPS Navigation. The ECUDatascan is compatible with iGo 8 software, and when a valid version of iGo is installed on your SD card the ECUDatascan will have a GPS button on the main menu to allow full GPS navigation with TTS support.

I've just been browsing through the ECUDataScan forum.
For a permanent install, a right angle OBD2 connector works better. They imported a batch of this adaptor for AUS$35 each. Are they still available?

I think he's supplying an adaptor but I'll ask shortly to be sure

What some guys do if they want these sort of thing in permanently is remove the socket from its surround - it unclips and then they have it all neatly up under the dash. You clip it back into place when you no longer need it or sell the car or whatever
