PHAT Mild Steel Mufflers

Postby drndrn » Fri Jul 24, 2009 4:53 pm

Received the mufflers today, and all I can say is awesome.

They sit perfectly and the sound is absolutely amazing. They certainly sound different to the Hi-Tech's, I will try to get a sound recording soon. For now here are the photos.

Damn - some people!!

Is it superficial - i.e. will it buff out? At least, will the white come out?

If I were you, I'd scope all the white cars local to that shop over the next few weeks!

It wasn't my local shops so yeah.. And at one point its scraped right to the bare plastic of the bumper. So I will definitely need a respray down the line.

GLad the mufflers arrived for you guys today...looking at your damage, if its just superficial...If you dont want to claim insurance, I will repair it at cost....
Basically, you cover the cost of labour ($25/hr), provide the paint, and any materials, and I will get my factory hand (old and bold spraypainter) to do the job.
We have a paint booth, (same place you picked the muffs up from) so its a professional job....only downside, you will have to leave the car with us for a week.

If you want an example of his work, come and have a look at my wifes forester....she has a habit of rearranging it  and im tired of claiming:)

Btw, it looks great Darren! Glad you liked the painted muffler with stainless tips in the end! Not sure if unpainted mufflers would have gone better, but the gunmetal matches your body colour. Also the taillight tints really make a subtle difference. You don't notice it at first until you compare it side by side with that black Liberty next to yours with it's neon red taillights.

Oh, you're also the first 2.5NA to fit Phat mufflers too!

Damnit he beat me! I blame Couriers please. Or maybe it was due to my generosity ;).

Thanks to everyone involved in getting these fancy milo tins to us with such haste
