It came out April 20th. Definately worth making a noise over though.

Speaking of Whereis, I cannot believe that they still do not show major roadworks done around Essendon Airport back in 2007.

I'm well aware of it, because my Navman GPS with 2008 Sensis/WhereIs maps keeps telling me to negotiate a big 5-way roundabout near home that was removed two years ago, and the online map still shows it there, as well as missing all the new roads through the Airport development.

I need the standard V15 (not Redline). Anyone able to share/copy theirs. I'd be happy to chip in to cost.

I see this is for Clarion units, which will supposedly work with the Libby GT-B sat-navs.

Do you know anyone that's actually tested it? (other than in your car?)

Just trying to cover bases before I trash my unit.

Sorry mate - I'm the only one I know who has tried it and it's working fine for me.

I checked a few roads that I know where not on my v12 disc and for sure they now appear. Also in the menu you can check the version and it comes up with Kenwood v15 so it all appears ok.

I'm no expert but from what I understand you will either have the redline version or the standard version. This is the Toyota, Lexus, Ford, Clarion/Denso version that seems to be indistinguishable from the Subaru standard version. Don't worry, there's no logos that change. I really can't notice any difference in the look or operation (but that doesn't mean there isn't).

I'd be surprised if the DVD contains anything that permanently modifies your Sat-Nav. My guess is it will either read it or not. If not you get an error on your screen and have to switch back to your old disc. That's my thinking - I don't know for certain so take it with a grain of salt please. ;)

Thanks for that.
I know with Audi their RSN-E units are actually BIOS flashed with their new DVD's. Maybe the Clarion/Kenwood setup isn't that smart.

I tried this DVD in my Impreza RS (which i'm not really sure has the same sat unit) and now it's stuffed :x . I can't do anything and it still kept showing up "No DVD, please insert the map DVD". Anyone know how to reset the head unit so I can get the disc out? Thanks very much!

Not sure how it works in Libs or Impreza's, but in Toyotas you drop the battery cable to the car and leve it shutdown for 30+ minutes. When you reconnect the battery, the satnav will fire up, read the disc, and in your case you want to restore firmware from the disc. In your case, you will want to try and stop it reading the disc and eject it before it applies the firmware. provided you can do that, it should be a matter of battery off for another 30, turn it on, and put the right disc in.

Alternatively, if you can't eject it in time, look for a small hole near the dvd slot and put a (bent) paperclip in - like a computer CD/DVD drive it should eject the disc. MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS OFF !

First of all, tks for the advice. I did tried to cut off the power for couple hours, it didn't work, then I tried to totally disconnect all the wires from the head unit but it didn't work either. I also did try to find the pin-hole of the drive, but this one actually the slide in/out slot disc, not a tray one, so there's no pin-hole at all.

Now, I jst open the whole head unit up and force to get the disc out but whenever I turned on the power, the disc drive has the reading sound as it thinks the dvd still in there and it's kinda annoying, more than that I'm afraid it'll damage the head-reading of the dvd drive. So now one more time, I open it up again and tried to open the dvd drive and hopefully fix it but still struggle with it.

BTW, anyone know which model of that Kenwood head unit? I could find any information about it. Anyway, here's the picture of the unit

ok... so I've downloaded all the files as per another thread for version 15

result, yes it works but I have to make it clear to everyone that mine is the kenwood unit... as in (Spec B MY08, with Macintosh 6 disc stacker and separate DVD drive for the GPS disc)

more than happy to discuss further on a separate thread about others wanting to test
