2007 GT Spec.B vs GT Spec.B tuned by STI Sway bars

Postby Sheik Jabooti » Tue Jun 09, 2009 7:33 pm

So I was wondering if any one knew if there was a difference between GT Spec.B vs GT Spec.B tuned by STI OEM Sway bars (on an MY07).

Are the sways all part of the Spec B kit or have STI changed them?

Basically I'm wondering if it's gonna make any difference installing a set of second hand sways from an STI onto my GT Spec B.

Measure the diameter and that'll give you the most obvious difference. A thicker bar will be stiffer than a thinner one. Also have a look at the mounting bushes to see if they are made of a harder material.

Thanks guys. Lucky I found this out as I was about to buy Dwayne's second hand STI sway bars. I'd end up spending $300 installing something that's older than what I already have!

Now to put in that order for Whitelines... 8)
Started with a Gen2 Outback, then got a MY07 GT Spec.B Manual w Cat Back Exhaust and Verso Tuned, now got 2 kids and a MY07 GT Auto Wagon, Ultrex stealth back exhaust, panel filter, Whiteline Sways all round, Spec.b struts and springs and Kido-Tuned.

The Whitelines make a huge difference (thanks to WhiteGTB for the group buy).

No more of that soggy feel round corners.

Don't forget wheel alignment and camber settings. Will make for a much better drive.

Just put mine on on the weekend (stiffest setting). Sits very flat now. Nice, very nice. Should come this way from the factory. $80 and one hour to fit them at the local service station. Easy...aka lazy.

What's the story with this...do I need to change something here as a result of the stiffer bars?
MY07 3.0R Auto
Reversing camera, "road kill" sound deadener in all doors and parcel shelf. Whiteline sway bars (front and rear).
Dyno Tune by Vin @ Docklands STi +10-12KW and much better response. Got a 3.0R? Do it now.

you dont have to to but I would highly recommend it. a bit of neg camber on the front wheels will make the most of the sway bar mod.
