haha description of the video... "sticking to local speed limits"
judging by the revs and how fast it looked you were going, i'd love to live in that area :p with speedlimits like that

hey,
a couple of questions...
do you know what went into the block to be able to stand the turbocharging?
because i'd be assuming that if you're making 225kw with only 4psi then you're probably running the factory 10.7 compression ratio, would i be right??
and if so, have you changed the rods? because they are pretty tiny and your engine will probably grenade if you're running boost + 10.7:1CR + stock internals...

i'm not having a go, i'm just curious because i would like to put some boost into my engine and am wondering what the stock internals can take...

i know that perrin fed 16psi into a block with only lower CR pistons (8.1:1) and made 400hp at the wheels...

though if i was going to do it, i'd sleeve the block, run different rods and head studs with lower compression ratio pistons, because then i could run 21psi like perrin and make 600hp at the wheels...

Yes you guessed correctly (though I have already talked about this elsewhere in this forum :roll: ) we are at stock currently. Bear in mind the rods in the H6 are smaller than any other 4 pot subaru engine because at a given power output (say stock 3.0RB vs GTB) the rods in the 3.0 engine need only handle almost 10% less power. So, we are running stock pistons and rods for LPT, but we will be changing them once we get past 8psi boost, of course ...
we'd be happy with anything between 300 to 350Kw/~450horses ultimately at the wheels any more than that would IMO not be in keeping with the character of our car/project goals. I'd imagine 600+horses at the wheels would see you shredding diffs etc and you'd probably do well, in the long run, to upgrade your driveline significantly (and expensively) if you did decide to head that way. Then you can go to the drag strip and drag anything you can get your claws on and I shall come and watch and poke fun at your countless victims :twisted: :lol:

Good to meet you yesterday at Pulse mate, was surprised when Adam told me that THE TT H6 was in the shop and that the owner was here too :)

You need to get some pics of the engine bay on the thing now, looks really nice although photos really don't do this thing justice!

Yeah thanks Dylan! It was very nice to meet you too.
I've only had her back for a few days now picked her up last Friday. So still getting used to it all. I'm constanty driving it in I mode because in the other modes she's just an animal and I don't wanna loose my license. The final dyno figures were 282Kw and 8000N torque at the wheels at 10psi boost. I will post some photos and the dyno charts soon. I'm still not sure what sorta wheels to put on - the Enix wheels on there now kinda grow on you but they're just too heavy. It would be nice to compare notes from the wheel experts at the next meet.
