Introduce yourself

Proud new owner - MY09 2.5i Heritage

Postby garthos » Fri Apr 10, 2009 10:31 pm

Gday everyone,

Well, I joined up about a month ago, probably not the best idea as my ride was still 3 weeks away (the longest 3 weeks of my life....) but the forum has been a source of inspiration since I joined and I suspect my initial list of intended mods may end up doubling or tripling..... or worse!!!

Anyway to the point, my name is Garth Im in Sydney, just moved to Lane Cove, from Dee Why. I picked up my Lib about a week ago in the form of Obsidian Black, Manual 2.5i Heritage Sedan, Feb 09 model, from Subaru Lindfield.

I have to say the reason its taken a week to introduce myself, is because I haven't been able to drag myself out of the Lib since it arrived.... I just love it

So the options I added on the initial purchase:
*Front tints
*Mesh Grill
*Protech paint/leather
*Parrot bluetooth hands free (yet to be fitted)

The options I will most likely add first:
*Alloys (might need some opinions about what I have in mind)
*Exhaust (Phats canon mufflers have certainly caught my eye)
*Bodykit (Hippo Sleek has some good looking kits)
*Audio (Mcintosh system might need a little work, I'm not sure exactly what just yet, but it doesnt seem to pump out as much bass as I would like)

Cheers guys, happy to be a member of the forum.

(pics coming)

Garth.

Welcome to the forums Garth and congrats on your purchase, sweet looking ride !

Just wondering about some of your mods that you have listed, eg. different alloy wheels in particular. Are those 6 spoke factory wheels you have on the car now the 17"'s ? If so, I could be interested in either taking them off your hands for a direct swap with the GMAX Defiant wheels I have for sale ( see -> http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?t=4112 ) or possibly working out an agreeable price to get them off your hands.

Anyways, hope you enjoy your stay here and enjoy the road ahead filled with mods !

Cheers,
Lok

Thanks Lok, those alloys look good, but actually Im leaning towards getting some black/dark looking rims (have a few ideas, might need some opinions soon though), and at this stage I plan to hold on to the factory 17"s. Ill definately give you a shout if that changes though.

Thanks anyways mate.

No probs Garth, thought I would ask - can't blame a guy for trying, hehe.

All the best for your future mods ! :D

Cheers Gumbyy, actually I was tossing up a few ideas about the mesh grille, firstly debadging was my initial idea, but after looking at this http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/mod_paint_subaru_star-t7659.html?s=cce0c78111ee73193fca559736984181&t=7659 I'm seriously considering the red repaint for both badges.

Also it would tie in with the Red pinstripes Im considering for the black alloys, but thats a whole other story that I'll be posting up for opinions soon

But out of interest, what are the better looking aftermarket grille options you are referring to?

Cheers,

Garth.

Ah the good ol' DIY badge painting, popular with the yanks but I havn't really seen any aussies do it - good luck im sure it will look awesome if done right!

Theres the ever popular Corazon or Zero/Sports grille option, though with the current financial crisis it may be a tad expensive - http://www.japanparts.com can help you with that. As a cheaper alternative, can't go past the CF grille T-REXX was (is?) selling, feedback has been very positive about that from members- check the For Sale thread. It is CF though so not to everybodys taste however it does go very well with Obsidian Black Pearl
