i think what they are saying Dave is that the extra resonator won't restrict flow any further and that they are chasing close to factory sound levels. Also i'd be assuming but since Phat is talking of using a jig, the pipe will be mandrel bent as one sEction instead of joining many bends with welding. As arith stated, the 2 resonators a used to keep the sound down and to also provide similar capacity to the oem muffler, this system is not just for the sake of the sound, but really for the performance gains due to the increased flow.
The reason behind the increased cost is not really the extra resonators but for mandrel bend of single pipe for centre pipe and the detail being engineered in to how the centre pipe will be blended into the y pipe without restricting the flow.
I must be missing something.
How does adding an additional resonator in the centre improve flow and performance?
Also to give you an idea on costs my exhaust fabricator charged me $450 for 3" s/s pipe using mandrel bent bends and tig welds. Job took him 3 hours he said. That price included the s/s resonator.
